Flaxseed, also known as linseed, has a mild, sweet and nutty flavour and is considered to be one of the world’s healthiest foods. Cultivated in India since thousands of years, flaxseed is loaded with nutrients, proteins, Omega-3 fatty acids, lignans, fibre and is one of the first superfoods known to mankind.

One of the oldest fibre crops in the world, known to have been cultivated in Babylon. Burial chambers depict flax cultivation and clothing from flax fibres. The flax fibres were also used commercially to be spun into linen to provide clothing and other textile-related products. Flaxseed was used as food in Greek cuisine and for medicinal purposes by the Romans.
